About rFpro

rFpro develop solutions that save money by allowing professional test drivers and engineers to test drive their vehicles in simulation.

Origins

The rFpro product was the outcome of a major development partnership with a high budget F1 team in 2007, to create a simulator that was physically accurate, and visually and aurally realistic. By licensing and extending the graphics engine from the computer game rFactor, we benefit from the continuous and intense R&D effort invested at the pace demanded by the gaming industry. rFpro builds are released on a fast development cycle, two per year, so we are able to take advantage of new features as they become available.

Successes

At the end of 2008, rFpro was launched commercially and is now being used extensively in both motorsport and the automotive industry. From an initial customer base that was 100% motorsport in 2009 rFpro has since been accepted as the software of choice for many general automotive OEMs and Tier 1s where 80% of our business applications now reside. Customers include Ferrari and AVL, who estimate that over 30 percent of the costs incurred in the development of a vehicle’s driving attributes can be be saved through front-loading the engineering activity using the high quality subjective feedback gained on a DIL simulator.
